My relationship with spanking goes back to my school days. Untill recently South Africa allowed corporal punishment in schools. It was no big deal to be sent to the headmasters office and get caned. It was quick and over with and you did not have to waste time in detention on a Friday afternoon.

At the time South African also allowed judicial corporal punishment. You could be sentanced to cuts by the magistrates court. These were dished out at the police station and I once saw the “cane” used, it was a thick piece of wood and there was absoulutly no doubt that it was meant to hurt and injure. Occaisionly forgetting to do my homework and getting punished for it, was one thing, but just the image of that “stick” kept me on the straight and narrow when I was young.

These day Corporal Punishment is no longer allowed in many countries around the world. Actually that is sad, becuse the youth today have no respect for anything.
